On the town

Ellie came early for Thanksgiving and the whole family went to our favorite restaurant in San Francisco, the Slanted Door.

Then we toured the Jeremiah O'Brien, a WW II Liberty ship (merchant marine ships built by Rosie the Riveter and crew to move materiale in wartime. www.ssjeremiahobrien.org for more information). Much of the novel Jacob is writing takes place on the ship.

We discovered, at long last, a place where all our questions will be answered!

Jacob documented everything before finding the gunner's seat.

By this morning he had a raging sore throat: his first illness since returning to school, but the docs say it's minor, and he'll be back in school soon.
