High School
Here it is, the obligatory first day of school photo, with which I have tortured my children every year since Ellie started nursery school.

Results
We got the results of Jacob's sleep study which were... that he got to have another sleep study!
The first one showed that he had obstructive sleep apnea - the kind where you stop breathing frequently throughout the night because your airway closes down, so they needed to calibrate him sleeping with a machine creating positive air pressure to hold his airway open.
I seriously could not believe he was willing to do it, but it shows how dedicated he is to getting better.

It really reminded me of some strange Patent illustrations from the past:

Pix
Just some pictures I wanted to share:
Susan with her birthday cake

The kids at Susan and Jeffrey's house

I'm completely in love with that photoshop glowing edges filter...It looks just like I would like draw it with colored conte pencils on black mi tientes paper.
Jacob and I took an Indian cooking class last week - here he's listening to the teacher Teena explain spice theory:

And finally these Dr. Suess flowers are onions from the garden. They never formed really edible onions, but the flowers are wild:

Cappy's Window
Back when Ellie was a baby, and we lived in Washington State, Cappy Thompson, the glass artist made a window for us.
Since Jacob was diagnosed only a few months after we moved into this house, it's been in storage and we've missed it terribly.
Today, the woodworker finally set in place and it is perfect, and heartbreakingly beautiful.

Cappy has gone on to become an internationally recognized artist. For years she worked mainly on large hand blown vessels, and more recently on enormous architectural commissions, but can see the thread that runs back to the beginning, the stories, the sense of the sacred.

The piece Cappy did for the Evergreen State College Library, is called "I Imagine Us As a Holy Family Engaging In the Great Work of Increasing the Light." Isn't that a title to conjure with?

You can see more at Cappy Thompson's web site
