Beach Dance

This is actually from last fall.

Tammy asked several women to the beach for a shoot.

She danced with us a bit, but mostly she shot from a ladder:

Her assistant, Trevor, got into it:

Skip this if you don't want to read about health insurance

My sister, Susan, sent me another perspective on health insurance plan outlining a plan introduced by State Senator Sheila Kuehl.

Compare Schwarzenegger's and Kuehl's Plans (Sb 840)

Clearly the Kuehl plan is more comprehensive, but I'm really sorry to see them in opposition. The thing that is exciting about the Governor's plan is that it might actually happen.

The best thing would be to take these criticisms and incorporate them into the Governor's plan. The core of the criticism is that:

"The central basis of the Governor’s plan is simply to mandate that every Californian must, by law, carry health insurance. There is no requirement that it be affordable and no minimum coverage. This means that the requirement can be met by a bare-bones policy covering only catastrophic events, with a $5,000 deductible and up to $7500 in out of pocket expenses for all the things that aren’t covered by the policy." (from Kuehl's Website)

I think this and some of the other very cogent criticisms could be adressed. If only they would work together...

Jacob Fenton

Another family milestone: Jacob Fenton has been promoted to Convergence Editor at the Intelligencer in Doylestown, PA.

I asked Ellie for a picture of him:

This is what she said about it: "Here's one of both of us from last night. I'm knitting him
slipppers--right now they're impossibly giant."

I think after she washes them in hot water they'll shrink and have only two "p"s.

Congratulations, Jacob!

Big News

It's been in the works since December, and finally it can be told: Young started a new job at Zazzle.com yesterday.

It was no easy thing for him to leave Pulse, the company he help found 12 years ago. But with Veepers out on cell phone services all over the world, he could go feeling good about the company and the people there he cares about.

Young's going to have to be the one to tell you more about Zazzle - all I can say is it is a great company - full of smart, creative people, and they appreciate Young!

So - a new beginning. Hooray for Young!
