A Few Answers
Jacob saw a neuro-opthamologist in San Francisco this week, and we got a bit more clarity about what is going on in that pointy head of his (as my mother would say...)
Apparently, radiation effects at the pineal are causing the double vision, more or less the same way the tumor did. Most probably, it'll either get better, or Jacob will get used to it. And, if it does get worse, to the point where it's causing Jacob problems, there are optical and surgical remedies, which is good to know.
It's a whole new phase.

A great weekend
It was a great weekend.
Mike and Barbara came through on their way to Baja from the sodden North, looking for sun.

Jean and Joel were here from Olympia as well, for Jean's niece's bat mitzvah. Mazel Tov!

Young finally gave me some pix from Houston. Here he is at the actual Ground Control Console:

Scary- but okay
Jacob started having some double vision this week, along with some other changes in his eyes. It was similar to when he relapsed last year, so he had tumor markers drawn on wednesday and an MRI yesterday.
Today, after a miserable sleepless wait, we got the result: no new tumor.
There are growing traces of radiation-induced changes in his brain, but they are different in signature than a tumor: linear, rather than volumetric.
I know I will be really joyful as soon as the freaked-out-ness wears off. Right now just not being terrified feels really good!
To celebrate, here are some pictures I've been meaning to put up for a long time:
